The aim of the U3A Line Dance group, held in Ashcott Village Hall, is to dance, enjoy the music and have a happy, sociable Monday morning to set us up for the week. This low impact exercise gives recognised health benefits for brain and body.

We dance to all kinds of music and rhythms including jazz, swing, rock ‘n roll etc.,up to modern pop songs. Line Dance is no longer just country & western style!  Our line dances can be old favourites or up-to-the-minute new dances.  New dances are taught step-by-step and newcomers are welcome.  No partner needed.

Membership of the U3A is required; the current annual subscription is only £10. For each class or activity you join there is a class fee.  In the case of our line dancing class a 12 week term costs £12. New terms start in September each year and beginners at line dancing find this the best time to join the class.  If line dancing appeals to you but you are not sure about joining, why not look up our local website http://u3asites.org.uk/street-glastonbury where you will find details of all our many activities, including a line dance information page.  You can join the U3A at any time but there is an an Enrolment Day, usually at Glastonbury Town Hall, during August, where you can find out more about the various activities and groups of this local U3A branch. The date for the next Enrolment Day will be found on the web site along with all contact information.

The University of the Third Age (aka U3A) is for retired or semi-retired people who want to keep learning and enjoying new experiences.  More about this world-wide, lively,self-help organisation can be found on the national website at www.u3a.org.uk.

Give me (Elaine) a ring or email me if you want to discuss it.
