Annual Events

Over the past 18 plus years, during the month of December, a scheme has been running in Ashcott which raises money for children suffering from Leukaemia and Cancer. This is our Christmas Card Delivery Scheme. The money which is raised is sent to the Charity known as CLIC Sargent whose head quarters are in Bristol. For two consecetive days and for the period of 1 hour on each day, usually between 9-10 am, people from the village can bring their cards which they wish to sent to friends and family living in Ashcott and Pedwell. The cards are collected, taken away and sorted then delivered to the relevant homes, within a 48 hr time scale. In exchange for this service each participant gives a donation to the CLIC Sargent Charity.

This has proven to be an extremely successful way of raising money to help children and their families who find them in such traumatic and difficult circumstance.
